NextRoom
LiveDiscover and review text adventures, interactive fiction, and narrative games.
About this project
NextRoom started as a personal need to track and review interactive fiction games. Text adventures, parser games, choice-based narratives — there's a rich world of interactive storytelling that deserves proper documentation and discovery.
The site serves as a curated review platform where each game gets the attention it deserves: gameplay notes, writing quality, puzzle design, and overall experience. Unlike generic game databases, NextRoom focuses exclusively on interactive fiction, giving the genre a dedicated home.
Building this alongside CaveDraft creates a natural ecosystem. As I develop tools for creating interactive fiction, NextRoom becomes the place to showcase and review what others have built — and eventually, what I build myself.

Why Interactive Fiction?
Text-based games represent some of the purest forms of interactive storytelling. No graphics budget, no voice acting costs — just words and choices. This constraint forces creativity and rewards good writing above all else.
NextRoom exists to celebrate that tradition and help players find their next great text adventure.
